The goal of this paper is to show potentials of Creative Industries in improvement of Tourism Planning, moreover the emphasis was on potentials of innovative approaches in Handicrafts. After a review of current examples, this hypothesis would be introduced that emphasis on the role of design thinking and application of such thinking could have an important effect on improving the targets of developing Tourism Industry. Based on theories of Sociology of Creativity, Dialectic Approach in Creativity and Cultural Historical Activity theory, the bans and challenges for applying design thinking in tourism industry would be introduced. The authors believe that the underlying discussion is about challenges of modernity and tradition, which is projected as contemporary design movements and traditional handicrafts. The output of this paper is based on extracting scenarios and stakeholders system maps for a fruitful interaction. Moreover tactics and solution scenarios would be extended to institutionalize and initiate innovation in handicrafts in one hand and make values and messages of cultural heritage understandable on the other hand, so that they could also create a rooted and valued artifact. The infrastructural goal is based on defining culture inspired design and research domain of design for cultural heritage, which could connected industrial design, traditional craft studies and tourism management. The outcomes of this paper is useful for managers of cultural planning, tourism industry and those branches of industrial design which are concerned about cultural issues.
