Abstract
Abstract

Problem statement: One of the fundamental challenges of contemporary cities, especially in Iran, is the lack of a cohesive visual identity in urban spaces. This issue not only affects the quality of urban life experiences but also hinders tourism attraction and the enhancement of the city’s mental image. Among these, Alborz Province, despite its diverse cultural, historical, and natural potentials, has so far been deprived of a unified graphic branding system that aligns with its local characteristics.

Aim of the study: This study aims to explore the feasibility of designing a comprehensive graphical branding system for Alborz Province, to create visual coherence in urban spaces and thus provide a platform for advancing cultural identity, urban aesthetics, and tourism appeal.

Research method: The study is qualitative and analytical. Data were gathered through theoretical resource reviews, examination of case studies, and analysis of visual elements. Using a comparative approach, visual identity elements—including logos, color palette, typography, and graphic symbols—were analyzed in relation to the cultural and functional indicators of the province.

Results: The findings indicate that designing a cohesive, locally oriented visual identity system can reduce graphical dispersion, enhance the urban image, and strengthen Alborz’s cultural identity. Within this framework, specific implementation guidelines and criteria are proposed, which are not only feasible for Alborz but also serve as a model for other provinces.
